CAT

Cats lived with the Egyptians as early as around 3,000 BC. C. In Ancient Egypt it was a sacred animal, the incarnation of Bastet, goddess of motherhood. In the photo a figurine recently found in an ancient Egyptian temple in Alexandria, Egypt. The ancestor of our domestic cat is represented by Felis Lybica (North African wild cat). Cats have most likely lived in intimate association with humans ever since they found it advantageous to do so.
