DRAGONFLY

Small, elegant and light, the dragonfly is a genus of insect that belongs to the Odonata family, hemimetabolous entomes whose growth and development are possible only in water environments. During the two juvenile stages, called nymphs and nymphs respectively, odonates live in the water while in adulthood they transform into expert fliers and rapid and silent predators of both water and air. Symbol of change, transformation and rebirth, dragonflies in Norse mythology were associated with the goddess of love Freyja while in China and Japan they are still considered sacred animals today.
