The use of eggs dates back to distant times, when the Egyptians began to raise chickens and eat their "fruits", also inventing an artificial incubation system. The role of eggs, since the beginning, has received great importance in human nutrition. The Carthaginians and Greeks also began to eat chicken eggs in their daily lives, the Romans used them for desserts or as a breakfast food, and so did the Etruscans who added them as a condiment for sauces and side dishes.
