€120.00

The elephant belongs to the Elefantidae family, the only one in the Proboscidea order; there are two genera: Loxodonta, which lives in Africa, and Elephas, located in Asia. These are the largest living vertebrates on the face of the Earth. It is not just the height - it exceeds 4 meters - or the size - it exceeds 10 tons -, but the trunk that is striking: the upper lip and the nose fuse together, so that it can grasp objects and suck in water, to then spray it with a violent jet. Furthermore, its ears are enormous: they constitute the elephant's radiator, as they disperse excess heat. Finally the tusks, which serve as a working and offensive tool, sought after since ancient times: ivory like white gold.
