FLAMINGO

The Flamingo belongs to one of the oldest families of birds in the world, dating back over 50 million years. The pink flamingo is the species with the widest global distribution. It is in fact present in the Galapagos and in the Caribbean Sea with the much more widespread subspecies roseus, it is present in Africa, in the Mediterranean basin, in the Persian Gulf and in India. Flamingos have been considered relatives of herons, storks and ducks.
