IRIS

Iris means "eye of the sky", in reference to the rainbow that Egyptian mythology personified in the goddess Isis.

Who has never been fascinated by the beauty of Iris? The Florentine Iris is admired for the complex and somewhat regal shape of its flower which, with an indigo imbued with nuances, fleshy and delicate, unrolls from a sharp bud.

In its natural state it prefers grassy, arid places and rocky environments. The fruit is a trigonal capsule that rarely produces seeds. The plant chooses to propagate vegetatively through the rhizome; and this is precisely what is mainly used. All the beauty of the flower hides its perfume in the rhizome which reveals it after drying and ripening.
