JUICY SALIF

An intuition born in front of a plate of calamari during a lunch on the island of Capraia: Philippe Starck, in fact, instead of drumming his fingers on the tablecloth, drew it, inspired by the molluscs and the lemon to be squeezed on top. And once the project was completed, he even put it in an envelope and sent it to Alberto Alessi, who, incidentally, had been waiting for months for the project for a tray (and certainly not for a paradoxical citrus juicer). Juicy Salif has become the most famous citrus juicer in the history of design, a criticized but beloved symbolic object. Impossible not to recognize it at first glance: this sculptural citrus juicer is a true masterpiece that can even be found at the MOMA in New York.
