OLIVE

The history of the olive tree and its characteristics is profoundly linked to that of humanity; in the origins of this precious golden liquid, extra virgin olive oil, history and mythology are closely intertwined, to the point of becoming confused. Probably appearing for the first time in Western Asia, the olive plant spread throughout the Mediterranean area, where its cult was consecrated by all religions. It is now established that the cultivation of the olive tree has origins at least 6,000 years ago: traditional stories, religious texts and archaeological finds attest to this.
