PANDA

The panda is the symbol par excellence of endangered animals and of over 50 years of WWF commitment to the conservation of species around the world. Although it was already known to the local Chinese populations, the giant panda was "discovered" only in 1869 by the French Jesuit naturalist Armand David, from which its initial name of "Father David's bear" derives. It is an unmistakable animal due to its black and white fur, its rounded shape and the essential link with the bamboo forests, its natural habitat.
