The Vespa is a scooter model from Piaggio, patented on 23 April 1946, designed by the aeronautical engineer Corradino D'Ascanio.
It is one of the most famous industrial design products in the world and has often been used as a symbol of Italian design. The Vespa has been exhibited in design, modern art, science & technology and transport museums around the world. It is part of the permanent collection of the Triennale Design Museum in Milan and the MoMA in New York.
