ZEBRA

The zebra is a herbivorous perissodactyl mammal, belonging, like the horse, to the Equidae family. Distributed in the eastern and southern regions of Africa, zebras are markedly distinguished from other members of the family by their black or reddish-brown streaks, alternating with light, white or yellowish bands, vertical on the forequarters, which often tend towards horizontal on the hindquarters of the animal.
